Our People

Steve Manlow joined the LCFRB as Executive Director in July of 2016, after serving as a Watershed Program Manager from 2007 to 2009, and Salmon Recovery Specialist in 2015 and 2016. Steve has extensive natural resource management experience in the Region. He served for 17 years as a Habitat Manager for WA Department of Fish & Wildlife and 6 years as a Project Manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Steve also spent several years as Land Use Planner and Deputy Director of the Grays Harbor Planning & Building Department, where he developed an appreciation of the role of proper land use planning in long-term conservation of fish and wildlife resources. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in biology and environmental studies, and has a keen interest in amphibian community ecology of headwater streams. When not working, he enjoys fishing, hunting, creating found-object art sculptures, and spending time with his family.

Denise joined LCFRB staff in April 2018. Before working for the Board she was District Manager for the Clark Conservation District since 2001. She has worked with natural resources and partnering organizations, agencies and communities over the last 20 years, assisting in land conservation, fish and wildlife habitat, and sustainability of local agriculture. She has an education and background in animal sciences and an M.P.A. in public affairs with a focus on environmental policy. In her free time, she enjoys mucking about in her garden and spending time with family.

Amelia joined the LCFRB in 2016. Prior to starting at the Board, she worked with California Sea Grant and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on long-term ecological monitoring programs for salmon and sudden oak death. Amelia brings a background in collaborating with landowners and agencies to develop, conduct and report on population and landscape trends. She earned an M.S. in Environmental Science and Management from Portland State University and a B.Phil. in Environmental Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. When not at work, Amelia enjoys spending time outside in forests, the water, and in her garden.

Steve joined the LCFRB staff in April 2018.  Prior to working for the Board, he worked for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Fish Program and Habitat Program.  While employed at WDFW, he worked on myriad projects, including lower Columbia River steelhead genetics project, white sturgeon stock assessment, green sturgeon biological assessment, seven gill shark tagging, eulachon research, as well as conducting stream surveys for winter and summer steelhead, fall and spring Chinook, coho, and chum salmon. He also served as an Area Habitat Biologist throughout SW Washington for the last twelve years. Steve graduated from California State University Monterey Bay with a BS in Earth Science Systems & Policy with a focus in Watershed Systems. Outside of work, Steve enjoys running, fishing, and family time, which is mostly consumed by soccer.
